Ghana: Transport fares increased by 13 per cent


Transport fares in Ghana have been increased.

A statement sighted by Newshuntermag.com indicated that transport fares in the country have gone up by 13 per cent.

The statement from the Transport Operators which was issued on Wednesday, June 2, 2021, explained that the decision to increase the fares stemmed from the recent increase in fuel prices.

To them, this will enable them to accommodate the fuel price hikes.

According to the statement, the transport fares will take effect from Saturday, June 5.

“In line with the administrative Arrangement on Public Transport Fares the Road Transport operators have received the prices of various components that go into, the running of, commercial transport services,” part of the statement read.
