Suspect in Abesim murder case remanded


Richard Appiah, the suspect in the Abesim murder case has been remanded.

The 28-year-old was remanded after he made his first court appearance on Thursday, August 26, 2021.

Richard was arrested on Saturday for allegedly killing three (3) at Abesim in the Bono Region.

Newshuntermag.com has learnt he appeared before the Kaneshie District Court on a provisional charge of two counts of murder.

He is to reappear before the court on September 15 after his plea was not taken.

His remand comes after the prosecutor, Chief Inspector Florence Anane, prayed the court to remand the suspect to help investigations into the case.

The prosecutor’s request was granted by the magistrate, Ms Ama Adomako Kwakye as investigations are ongoing.

The suspect, Richard Appiah did not have a lawyer when he appeared before the court today.
