Ghana’s new IGP, Akuffo Dampare sworn in


Ghana’s President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has sworn in the new Inspector General of Police (IGP) COP Dr George Akuffo Dampare into office.

The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Jubilee House on Friday, October 8, 2021.


During his speech monitored by Newshuntermag.com, Nana Addo was hopeful that the new Dr Dampare will be an effective leader.

“He has demonstrated he will be an effective leader of the Police.


“We have a worthy successor to Mr Oppong-Boanuh (the immediate past IGP) and the others who have gone before him,” President Akufo-Addo stated.


He added: “Government will do its best to assist you.”


COP Dr Akuffo Dampare was appointed as the Acting IGP on August 1.
