Samuel Adu Frimpong, otherwise known as Medikal, has been remanded.
The popular Ghanaian rapper was remanded by an Accra Circuit Court on Friday, October 22, 2021.
Medikal was arrested on Thursday, October 2021, for displaying a gun in a video posted on social media.
It’s a crime in Ghana to display ammunition unlawfully.
He pleaded not guilty when he appeared before the court.
The AMG Beyond Kontrol rapper will spend five days on remand.
“No person shall, except in accordance with the terms of a permit granted under this Decree or with the written consent of the Inspector-General of Police, publicly display any arms or ammunition (including explosives) or discharge any firearm or other weapon in any public place,” according to Section 7 of the Arms and Ammunitions Act of the Ghanaian law.
