Ghanaian actor, Ebenezer Akwasi Antwi, otherwise known as Dr Likee or Ras Nene, has revealed his plans to retire from acting.

He disclosed his plans to retire in an interview with Poleeno Multimedia.

The skit maker opened up about this when talking about his new production ‘Aka Jet Li’.

“We could have gotten a new movie but very soon I want to go on retirement from acting,” he divulged.

Having been in the Ghanaian movie industry for about twenty (20) years, Ras Nene (Dr Likee), indicated that he will retire to pave the way for young talents to shine.

“In this profession after a while, you take the back seat and become a coach then leave it for the kids. I want to become a director and give a chance to the new crop of young actors who are coming up,” he stated.

The popular actor is loved for his efforts to entertain others at a time when Kumawood movies have not been vibrant.

He observed: “We’ve entered a new era and the kids of today are coming with a new energy. Their style is different. We are already spending digital currency. The digital currency is on the way. For example, if you are doing business with someone, they can ask you for your Paypal account to make payment. You need to be sharp and keep up with the trends or you’ll lose out.”

Nene is also known for his roles as an armed robber, assassin, bodyguard, serial killer and other villain roles in Kumawood movies.
