Ghanaian Gospel singer, Piesie Esther says calling Nana Akufo-Addo ‘God of NPP’ was a mistake

Popular Ghanaian Gospel singer, Piesie Esther, has admitted a mistake she made at a recent event.

During her performance at the 40th-anniversary of Tagoe Sisters, the ‘W’aye Me Yie’ singer got closer to Ghana’s President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, she then sang that he’s the ‘God of NPP’.

The rendition of her hit song at the event met a lot of criticism.

Reacting to it in a recent interview on Adom FM, Piesie admitted she did it wrongly.

“I don’t allow criticisms to disturb me because since my ‘Wáye me yie’ song was released, whenever I go to a program and I’m ministering, I approach any prominent personality around and minister the song to him because I want the person to understand the lyrics of the song that’s how I do it all the time.

“So if you follow me, you’d notice that in every program that I attend, I use the person’s name to sing like ‘God of Enoch,’ that’s what I do every day. But I have learned that I shouldn’t have done that [calling Akufo-Addo ‘God of NPP],” Pieise Esther averred.

Below is a video of her statement.
