A well-known South African rapper, AKA, known in private life as Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, has been reported dead.
He reportedly passed on following a shooting incident at a night spot on the Durban-Florida Road.
AKA, per reports, was shot when standing on the pavement on Friday night—around 22:00.
The shooting incident has been confirmed by KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson, Robert Netshiunda.
“I can confirm that two men were killed and one of them is a well-known rapper. Police will not be releasing any names of the victims yet until a full investigation is completed,” he stated.
The well-known rapper was to perform at an event on Friday night; he even shared a video on his Instagram having fun with his friends before the sad incident occurred.
Born and raised in Cape Town, Kiernan Jarryd Forbes (AKA) rose to fame following the release of his single “Victory Lap” from his debut studio album, Altar Ego in 2010.
His demise is very unfortunate. May he rest well!
