
Ghanaian politician, Enoch Teye (E.T.) Mensah has died at the age of 77.
The former Sports Minister and Member of Parliament for the Ningo-Prampram constituency, reportedly died on the evening of Sunday, October 1, in South Africa where he was receiving medical attention for an illness.
He was a leading member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), elected in the 1996 parliamentary elections to represent Ningo-Prampram, and held the seat for almost a decade.
In addition to serving as the Sports Minister during both terms of the Rawlings administration, E.T. Mensah also served as an Education Minister, a Minister for Employment and Social Welfare, the Mayor of Accra, and a Council of State member, among others, in his political life.
His death coincides with former First Lady, Theresa Kufuor who also passed away on Sunday.
