Theresa Kufour, a Former First Lady of Ghana, has passed on.
Her demise reportedly happened on Sunday, October 1, 2023, at the age of 87.
The retired nurse and midwife was the wife of the second President of Ghana’s Fourth Republic, President John Agyekum Kufuor.
The two were married for 61 years, having tied the knot in 1962. They had five children together.
The former First Lady lived a relatively quiet life far removed from the public eye after the end of her husband’s tenure in January 2009.
Sources close to the family report that she died at home.
An official announcement of the unfortunate news will expectedly be made on Monday, October 2.
