NSS pleads with personnel over delayed allowances and arrears

National Service Scheme (NSS)

The National Service Scheme (NSS) has pleaded with personnel who are concluding their mandatory service in the 2022/2023 service year to exercise patience as their September allowances are being processed for payment.

It also said that allowances for October and all arrears covering January to June will be paid after September is settled.

Personnel were also assured that concerns regarding the recent upward adjustment of the allowance from GH₵559 to GH₵715.57 will be resolved.

These assurances came in light of complaints regarding delays in the payments.

The Scheme released a statement on Sunday, October 8, asking for restraint as the funds get processed.

NSS also thanked personnel for their patience despite the challenges that have accompanied their service to the nation.

It also wished them well as they bring their work to a close at the end of October.
